Purpose and Scope

The purpose of this position is to provide legal counsel, direction and education to Company management and personnel worldwide, to enable the Company effectively to transact all aspects of its business with an appropriate degree of risk and consistent with the Company's legal and ethical obligations, with a particular focus on providing general advice on a wide variety of legal matters to global business groups.

Responsibilities

1. Provide high-quality legal services to the businesses and centers to assist in achieving the Company's business objectives in such areas as corporate finance, commercial and contractual relationships with customers, suppliers, lenders and other third parties, litigation management, real estate, intellectual property, employment and benefits, government contracting, compliance, and other substantive legal areas as needed.

2. Provide support to all functional areas within the Law Center, including in mergers and acquisitions, governance, compliance.

3. Stay abreast of legal and regulatory trends and evolving theories in the law, apprise department and company management of concerns, and develop and implement solutions to address those concerns.

4. Evaluate the need for legal training and education programs for Company associates and design, implement and conduct such programs.

5. Contribute to the maximum effectiveness and cohesion of the Law Center by actively participating and sharing in the work, mission and continuous improvement of the Center and by establishing and enhancing relationships with all levels of Company employees.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum: JD with at least 5-6 years of law firm experience and valid license to practice law in Ohio or in a state that Ohio recognizes for its Corporate license

Desired Qualifications:

  • In-house legal department experience a plus
  • Experience working with international clients a plus
  • Experience with providing counsel directly to client’s senior management
  • Spanish language skills a plus
