Timken is currently looking for a Financial Analyst to assist with M&A projects within our Corporate Development division.

Responsibilities:

In most M&A assignments, this position will participate in and/or oversee various aspects of the following:

  • Creating financial analyses (build financial models, valuation analyses, merger modeling, corporate finance solutions, etc.)
  • Model multiple financial scenarios and related return profile
  • Leading financial due diligence in acquisition processes
  • Working on teams (coordinate with team members, deliver projects on a deadline) and individually
  • Prepare clear, effective presentation for executive management and board of directors
  • Tracking business development (collect research, analyze industry trends)
  • Business research
  • Post-acquisition analysis of the acquisitions

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Qualified candidates will possess a combination of the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Superior business valuation skills and corporate finance knowledge
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting financial statements
  • Are analytical and enjoy working with numbers and solving problems
  • Highly adept and sophisticated Microsoft office skills, especially excel
  • Knowledge and experience of acquisition related financial analysis and related accounting norms – e.g. net working capital determination, debt and debt like items determination
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Intelligence and intuition, ability to understand the scope and complexity of different businesses and acquisition opportunities


Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics and/or accounting and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in investment banking or corporate development function
  • MBA, CPA and/or CFA qualified candidates preferred
