The Inside Sales Representative is to assist the Groeneveld and ILS business by; tracking and following up on existing product quotes, and by; prospecting, qualifying and generating new sales leads to support the business. Duties include: new account development, promotion of specific sales programs, attaining sales goals, qualifying customer leads in an effort to gain a sale or deliver the leads to the appropriate sales representative. Additional duties include entering detailed customer updates and quotes in company CRM, ensuring customer contact information is accurate and that valid part numbers are captured.


  • Populates CRM database with quotes.  Monitors, evaluates and reports quote to sale conversions. 
  • Contacts customers on aging quotes to determine what is needed to convert quote to sale. Keeps sales force informed about customer feedback.
  • Associate will be expected to proactively contact existing and potential customers and log the information into CRM database to promote cross communication to the outside sales group.
  • Collect and analyze customer information in order to properly advise the customer regarding advantages and disadvantages so a proper recommendation can be made for applications, inventory, safety stock and forecasting
  • Prospects for new business and makes cold calls.
  • Maintain comprehensive account responsibility including price, delivery, forecasting, and maintaining the account master information
  • Manage the internal execution of the business relationship between Timken and customer accounts such as inputting of customer orders and changes and managing order book per the customer rules of engagement
  • Develop thorough understanding and in-depth knowledge of customers business including demand signals and the anticipation of ordering needs
  • Serves as back up to the customer service representative
  • Evaluates sales tracking information from finance and identifies lost sales (former ILS customers), contacts former customers and develops a strategy based on feedback to recover lost sales.
  • Establish and maintain strong communication practices/processes with outside sales
  • This position will manage all facets of the interaction with the customer including sales recommendations, contract negotiation and technical support



  • Associate degree in Business/Tool Design/Production or Industrial Engineering related discipline
  • Overall 5 plus years experience.
  • 1-2 years of sales support or a customer facing role for technical or industrial product.
