Purpose and Scope
The Principal Product Analyst has the responsibility to support the Product Management organization and related front-end business units and the field sales force. This position is
needed to compile and analyze product data such that fact-based business decisions can easily be made. This position assumes the role of project coordinator for product initiatives and related
sales and marketing projects. This position will also monitor and report progress of application testing tactics to identify areas of strength and weakness and suggest appropriate actions to be taken. This position is responsible for effecting continuous improvement in our product line support and product line development efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Create seal development project plans to define actions, timing and resources to support customer opportunities and growth projects 
  • Translate customer & program application requirements into cost effective sealing solutions
  • Establish & communicate seal technical specifications to vendors  following DFM
  • Work with vendors to establish and execute prototype & production schedules to meet Timken project target dates
  • Design product evaluation tests, analyze test data and write test reports
  • Prepare seal related reports and presentations for vendors and internal & external customers
  • In addition to reactive data requests, the position should proactively identify information that is
    useful for the product managers or requestor to support them in managing their business
    activities.

  • This position will drive continuous improvement efforts within the product
    management group.

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Machning, design for automotive applicatiions

  • high degree of familiarity with engineering and testing requirements for seals

  • highl level of axle and wheel testing experience 

  • proven project leadership & coordination skills

  • knowledge of Unigraphics

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree im mechanical engineering or closely related field and 7 years of experience in automotive and industrial application testing or 

Masters degree im mechanical engineering or closely related field and 5 years of experience in automotive and industrial application testing
