PURPOSE:

Provide strong vision, leadership and management to support Torsion Control Products through all facets of incoming and outgoing supply chain. Collaborate with multiple suppliers to achieve the best possible product for our applications. Provide strong leadership and management to support operations in the area of the manufacturing process including supply chain, logistics, purchasing, and inventory control.

ESSENTIAL REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review customer demand and current inventory to develop a what parts need to be procured to ensure >95% OTD
  • Collaborate with multiple suppliers across the supply chain to obtain the best possible quality, cost and delivery
  • Generate paperwork based on current inspection data to keep the flow of product to and from the suppliers
  • Maintain right-sized orders for raw material, work-in-process and finished goods inventory
  • Execute inventory strategy including understanding accurate inventory levels which maximizes OTD and reduce costs
  • Provide a link between engineering and the manufacturers/suppliers
  • Interact with production, TCP driver, and suppliers to ensure scheduling commitments can be met
  • Foster and maintain relationships with suppliers across the supply chain to preserve it’s integrity
  • Partner with quality to reduce quality issues and develop root cause analysis
  • Provide effective supplier management to meet supplier delivery goals and control raw material and work-in-process inventory levels
  • Drive cost reduction activities for raw materials to reduce plant operating expenses
  • Ensure compliance with current Quality and Safety Standards

TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL SKILLS:

  • Leading and coaching skills, especially development and effective delegation
  • Comprehensive supply chain experience (quality, commercial, and delivery)
  • Comprehensive inventory management experience
  • Knowledge/experience w/supplier systems and manufacturing
  • Demonstrated skills in scheduling, planning and systems level problem solving
  • Excellent PC & analytical skills
  • Systemic thinking and process-oriented problem solving approach
  • Organizational skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong independent thinking and ability to challenge and modify standard processes to suit new and different businesses supply chain(s) within existing infrastructure
  • Manufacturing/operations management experience preferred
  • Able to handle multiple projects at one time

FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED-PREFERRED:

Minimum - Associate Degree - Plus 10 year related experience

Preferred Degree - Bachelor - Plus 5 years related experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Purchasing experience required is 5 years minimum; 10 years experience preferred and prefer to have managed outside of contracting
