Purpose of Position

Provide global leadership for the aerospace bearing product lines including ball, cylindrical, spherical and tapered roller bearings. The primary objective is to drive profitable growth (target double digit YOY increases) of the product line through strategy development and execution, including driving new product introductions. 

Responsible for the development and implementation of the global cradle to grave product strategy and tactics in alignment with market strategy and tactics to ensure long term growth and competitiveness.

Global business ownership and CI of aerospace specific business processes of contract validation and customer flow down.

The individual assumes the lead role in defining and implementing tactics to achieve targets for sales revenue growth through sales support, new product launches and lifecycle management, pricing strategy, cost and asset management as defined in the product strategy by working with key functional areas such as (Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Application Engineering, Finance, R&D).

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Define the strategy to achieve profitable growth via a product plan incorporating:
    1. Competitive Benchmarking (Product, footprint, cost structure, price analytics)
    2. Life Cycle analytics
    3. Footprint strategy (interface with process design and supply chain)
    4. Channels to market
    5. Market trends and product features
    6. Cross Functional business planning alignment for priority projects
  2. Define tactics and lead cross-functional execution including:
    1. New product launch definition, execution, and commercialization
    2. Growth initiatives related to promotion, inventory, structural cost reduction efforts, etc.
    3. Competitiveness initiatives related to cost reduction and capability improvements
    4. Participation in business processes requiring product management representation such as OSMI, price changes, NPR, business planning, long range forecasting, etc.
  3. Manage Aerospace New Product Introduction (NPI) portfolio including:
    1. Monitor NPI portfolio, escalate execution issues and address systemic issues
    2. Lead cross functional NPI programs
    3. Engage with sales, marketing and pricing on strategic quotes
  4. Global process ownership and execution responsibility of Contract Validation and Customer Flow Down business processes
    1. Lead implementation of redesign of Contract Validation process that is used to confirm adherence to customer requirements
    2. Business process ownership of Contract Validation and Customer Flow Down
    3. Track metrics and drive execution of processes in matrix organization
  5. Tactical implementation:
    1. Project/timeline management
    2. Management by influence across the organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with at least 10 years of related experiences in new product and/or new business development
  • The ideal candidate will have a proven career of high performance through both technical product and business development experiences.
