The Housed Unit Product Specialist – is responsible for managing a portion of the Global Sales Territory for all Roller and Ball Housed Units and certain segments of Timken’s expanding PT line (Couplings).

This position will be accountable for developing and executing strategies for rapid and continuous market share growth in various global regions.  These strategies will include leading the prioritization and focus on specific growth tactics across regions while supporting the continued training needs by conducting in person and remote training of the Timken sales teams and customers around the world in partnership with the Timken Regional sales leads. This role also maintains the technical, commercial, and business expertise for these products to support the broader Timken sales associates succeeding with their product growth initiatives. 

Collaborate with the Business Unit Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager, Regional Managers, Product Manager and Marketing in planning, developing, executing and measuring strategies to ensure the successful growth of these products.

Support the assigned sales regions to generate maximum revenue and meet company objectives.  This role will have  revenue targets for assigned regions.  They will have the responsibility to coordinate with the group outlined above to achieve those targets.

Sales Objectives will be achieved through responsibilities such as:

  1. Applications of deep product knowledge to support the sale of these solutions to end users via a strong end user focused selling approach. Strong customer application knowledge and ability to influence end users and Timken Sales and technical support leaders and representatives is required.
  2. Support the execution of Timken’s price strategy for these product lines by researching and applying an overall understanding of the markets, the product nuances and the competitive environments to collaborate / recommend price levels and discounts to the sales teams.
  3. Managing growth tactics while working in a matrixed selling environment. The matrix is with the broader Timken sales force who are responsible for achieving our collective growth objectives.  This individual will establish themselves as a key product expert and business support resource of the regional sales teams.
  4. Develop and manage marketing plans to ensure revenue growth of product lines for each region.
  5. Review sales reports, open opportunities, back order reports, open quotes, profit margin and expense budgets as assigned and take action to ensure objectives are achieved.
  6. Provide strategic input on OE and Distribution channels, strategic level pricing, product development, inventory and supply chain strategies and results for global product flow.

      7. Direct responsibility management of select regions relationships with regional country and sales managers.
