The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all financial information concerning manufacturing and distribution plant activity in a timely manner. The position actively manages financial policy and internal controls for the business unit. The Sr. Financial Analyst should look for opportunities to improve free cash flow, improve productivity, reduce operating costs, and outsourcing / insourcing operations. They will become a business partner who supports Lean Manufacturing, manages plant assets, and leverages technology and financial tools.


  • Perform accurate, timely and effective monthly plant closing activities, in accordance with company policies and GAAP. Prepare journal entries and plant level account reconciliations to support financial results on a monthly basis. Submit monthly reconciliations via Blackline.
  • Process AP invoices to appropriate plant cost centers and monitor cost center performance against budget.
  • Submit all Internal Order/Appropriation Requisition requests and prepare monthly reporting on actual versus budget on all plant level spending.
  • Prepare monthly rolling forecasts and commentary for all major variances from both plan and prior forecast.
  • Prepare monthly financial support statements and reporting requirements, proactively interact with business management to ensure that all parties have a clear and accurate picture of the plant's overall financial performance.
  • Lead the preparation of the cost center performance reporting, business forecasts, and monthly operations review.
  • Post the monthly cycle count and annual physical inventory count results as needed. Prepare the inventory accuracy reporting for plant management to review and approve.
  • Lead SAP material create and deployment workflow in accounting and costing views for the business unit. Support material deployment costing and clean-up efforts to prepare for the annual costing run.
  • Maintain the local plant contract and lease agreement archive and ensure that the tangible asset schedule is up to date, per policy.
  • Prepare required reports and KPIs as needed 
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets. Maintain necessary inventory policies and controls to gain physical inventory exemptions.
  • Monitor areas of responsibility and ensure the plant is compliant in regulated areas including Sarbanes-Oxley, Timken Internal Accounting policies, ISO and other certifications.
  • Collect documentation in response to internal and external auditor requests.
  • Utilize SAP and other systems to gather data to support business unit projects.

Technical Skills:

  • Power user knowledge of SAP ERP system
  • In-depth accounting and manufacturing experience
  • Broad knowledge of auditing and internal control practice 
  • Strong PC skills with learning ability to adopt new technology and tools
  • Strong communication skills

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors in Accounting/Finance and 5-7yrs experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
