PURPOSE: The Sr. Mfg. Systems Analyst is primarily responsible to plan, develop and implement plant manufacturing systems and information architecture; including the development and implementation of new functionality, as well as the support and continuous improvement of existing functionality.  Also to manage, coordinate, plan and direct project activities within a multi-disciplined, autonomous work group.    

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Initiate, lead and direct the continuous improvement activities and major projects in all plant information system applications including:  planning and scheduling, product management, financial, quality management, engineering and manufacturing systems.  Has responsibility and decision making authority for all aspects of information systems activities; planning, development and implementation.
  2. Lead the acquisition and application of hardware/software solutions in support of user needs.  Continuously evaluate the business case for new hardware/software purchases and the value of existing applications.  Analyze requirements, review suppliers and solutions, make recommendations, implement and follow-up with results.
  3. Ensure system product/process knowledge is continuously maintained to facilitate the systems/bus process integration.
  4. Lead, coordinate and participate in the planning, test execution and implementation of new milestone releases of major software functionality.
  5. Provide technical leadership and expertise in the investigation and implementation of new applications.
  6. Provide and maintain system documentation, change request and problem management documentation.
  7. Review and coordinate the acquisition and maintenance of hardware and software purchases and service contracts.  Ensure contracts are adding value and providing the required level of support to manufacturing systems.
  8. Provide support via help desk facilities and software.  Resolve user problems and/or escalate to the person responsible for resolving the problem.  Communicate anticipated results and problem resolutions to the user community.
  9. Maintain/Enhance/Support SFIS is TRP Shop Floor Information System.

Principle Challenges:

  1. Maintain and enhance the integration of manufacturing and business systems within the business.
  2. Provide maintenance, continuous improvement, and major development efforts to an operating facility.  This position must be able to balance development/production area needs and make decisions on priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  3. Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving and new development activities.
  4. Provide support for all manufacturing systems on a 24 hr/day, 7 day/week basis.    * This is extremely important due to the extensive integration of systems and business process
  MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Business - thorough knowledge of business principles and concepts / understanding of business processes and systems linkage    
  • Technical - client/server, SQL2012, VS2012, vb.net, c#, HTML, Java-script, IIS, asp.net, asp.net MVC, SSRS, v6, Access, Excel and FANUC FOCAS libraries.
  • Project Management - must be able to lead a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree - Engineering, Computer Science or an IT related field
  • 5 yrs. of experience - IS development, IS technology, manufacturing shop floor controls  

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • IS development - in a bearing manufacturing and/or process engineering environment
